The Mackerel Islands can be accessed through Exmouth or through Karratha and Onslow.
Road Travel
Road travel from Perth to Onslow is a comfortable drive of about a day and a half on fully sealed roads and is only a 3 hour drive south of Karratha, or 4.5 hours drive from Exmouth.
By Air
Exmouth Gateway
Qantas and Skywest fly between Perth and Exmouth (Learmonth) making it a short 2 hour hop from Perth.
Charter planes are then available to transfer guests directly to the Thevenard Island, flying over the spectacular islands and wildlife in between. Flight time from Exmouth to Thevenard Island is approximately 40 minutes.

Pilbara Gateway (Karratha and Onslow)
Qantas, Skywest and Virgin Blue fly daily between Perth and Karratha, just under 2 hours from travel time.
Charter flights are available from Karratha with Ozwest Aviation directly to Thevenard Island.
For those travelling to Onslow, charter flights run regulary from Onslow to Thevenard Island on Thursdays and Sundays.

Fly yourself

Car Hire Services
Car hire is available from Karratha, Learmonth or Exmouth.

Onslow - Thevenard Islands 12pm*
Sundays
Thevenard Islands - Onslow 8am*
Onslow - Thevenard Islands 9:30am*

Transfers are conducted via aircraft, but may be replaced with a boat transfer service at times.
