One of the best ways to experience the species rich waters surrounding the Mackerel Islands is by boat charter. Our experienced skipper can take you to our favourite fishing spots including the famous Rosily Cay, or let you in on our secret snorkelling bays home to resident an abundance of fish life and Tropical Crayfish, or just take you to an uninhabited island where you can explore the pristine beaches and enjoy the lunch provided.
All charters are conducted on the Mackerel Islands charter vessel Thevenard1 which is a comfortable 8.2m Leisurecat. Because of it’s size and speed, Thevenard One offers a comfortable day at sea accommodating small groups of up to 8 which allows for the days activities to be flexible to keep everyone happy!

Mackerel Islands has become one of the top destinations for salt water fly fishing in Western Australia. Very few places in Australia or in the world for that matter can produce the amount of saltwater action that can be enjoyed in and around the Mackerel Islands. Fly Fishers have been known to catch as many as 20 species of fish or more during fly fishing trips to the island, including mega class fish, those any fly fisherman dreams of catching.
Boat moorings are available for hire right outside the beach cabins meaning there is no fuss when the decision comes to go fishing and it is a simple process to moor the boat at the end of the day.
